Hi everybody! I can't wait to get into my pictures from our week at Hume. The fire lookout we stopped at when we took our day into Sequoia called Buck Rock turns out to be pretty interesting! I happened to be watching Huell Howser's California Gold program last night and they did a special on Buck Rock. Turns out a lady ranger "Lookout" actually lives there. And to get to the tower is quite a climb. She has a bed, kitchenette and communication tools--AND a hummingbird feeder! Jonathan recognized the terrain immediately and said, "Hey Grandma! That's Morro Rock--me and my Uncle Freddy climbed it!" Then he said, "My dad teached me how to climb rocks and my Uncle Freddy took me climbin'!"
